Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2-5 person crew in the Dayton, OH area, performing pruning and removal for utility providers. CDL is preferred, climbing experience welcomed, and a valid driver’s license is required.

You’ll mentor crew members, ensure safety, manage equipment, and coordinate with clients to deliver reliable tree care services on site. Competitive hourly pay and standard benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors and lead a crew
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
• Line clearance certification is a plus for proximity to transmission lines
• Experience with pruning, tree removal, and safety protocols is required
• ISA/TCIA certifications are a plus and beneficial

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew safely and efficiently
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs
• Clear branches from utility lines and structures
• Inspect job sites and plan tasks before execution
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts; train new employees

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as a Foreman/Foreperson, CDL preferred and/or with climbing experience, to join our team servicing the Dayton, OH region.

Job Duties

Lead a2-5 person treecrew inperforming all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully formajor electric utility providers.Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application oftree identificationknowledgeand industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-siteinspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
