Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Foreman/Foreperson to lead a 2-5 person crew in Dayton, OH. CDL preferred and/or climbing experience will be considered to service the Dayton region for utility line clearance projects.

Responsibilities include pruning, removing trees, and maintaining equipment while mentoring new staff. On-site work with a strong safety culture and full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as a Foreman/Foreperson, CDL preferred and/or with climbing experience, to join our team servicing the Dayton, OH region.

Job Duties

Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain

• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
