Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Ohio is hiring a part-time LifeWise CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers safely between the LifeWise site. The role requires a clean driving record, CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, and compliance with background checks and drug testing.

Responsibilities include bus maintenance, safety enforcement, and assisting students in boarding and alighting, while following LifeWise safety policies and training requirements.

Qualifications

• CDL license with Endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in last 5 years
• Undergo background check through LifeWise Academy
• Complete drug/alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, random, post-accidents)

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if directed by the director
