Job summary

City of Virginia Beach Parks & Rec is hiring a Motor Equipment Operator II. You will operate light and medium equipment, including trucks and tractors, and assist with landscape maintenance and concrete/asphalt work. CDL is required; be prepared for emergency and weather-related duties.

The role requires a high school graduation and valid driver's license, with a CDL potentially required and drug testing as part of the process. Excellent safety and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of the tenth grade, plus two years experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
• May require a Commercial Driver’s license and be subject to drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and medium motor equipment such as pickup trucks and dump trucks with/without trailer.
• Assist in landscape maintenance, construction, and asphalt/concrete installations.
• Work during emergencies and inclement weather to support snow removal and storm cleanup.
