Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to obtain CDL and DOT medical card within 11 months and maintain thereafter.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
• Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods, and procedures.
• Safety shoes required.
• Skill in operating and maintaining hand, power tools, and highway equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate light, medium and heavy-duty highway equipment and vehicles for maintenance and construction tasks.
• Perform emergency roadway operations including snow removal and debris clearance; provide traffic control.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs; complete pre-trip inspections.
• Apply MUTCD guidance for detours, lane closures and work zones.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized work sites in compliance with regulations.
