Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a Highway Technician 1 with CDL, tanker endorsement, and no air brake restrictions for the Winter Seasonal 2026-2027 in Geauga County. The role focuses on snow/ice control, fleet readiness, and roadside maintenance.

Responsibilities include pothole patching, sign installation support, and traffic management during roadway emergencies. CDL validation and basic equipment operation are required.

Qualifications

• Formal arithmetic knowledge including addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages and fractions.
• Ability to read, write and speak common English.
• 3 months training or 3 months exp in operation of basic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Snow and Ice Duties on the roadway for 8-12 hours per shift, fleet readiness inspections and washing of equipment.
• General facilities maintenance.
• Pothole patching and roadway remediation duties.
