Job summary

GFL Industries is hiring Front-End Drivers to operate front-end trucks serving diverse residential and commercial routes. You will collect waste and recyclables, transport to post-collection facilities, and service multiple customers daily.

The role emphasizes safe operation, adherence to schedules, and courteous customer interactions while ensuring compliance with company safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of one year commercial truck driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must be able to meet relevant safety sensitive criteria according to Company standards.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive front-end trucks along designated routes to collect waste and take to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans. Roll 3-4-yard cans into position for dumping.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; submit a vehicle condition report at shift end.
• Interact courteously with customers and/or the public; notify supervisor of issues requiring management action.
• Maintain a logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report as required by law or policy.
• Maneuver truck into/out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors; back up as needed.
• Use a key map and GPS to locate service addresses.
• Follow all safety standards and lock out/tag out procedures for safe operation.
