Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to operate frontload or ancillary equipment on designated routes, delivering solid waste to facilities. A valid CDL, 21+, and 1+ year of driving experience are required.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain DOT logs, interact with customers, and follow safety policies. GFL offers paid time off, medical, 401(k), holidays, and EAP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.

Responsibilities

• Drive frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and position cans for dumping.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; complete vehicle condition reports as required.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public; report issues to the supervisor as needed.
• Maintain a clean site by picking up loose trash around the truck and work area.
• Maintain and submit a DOT logbook, route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition reports as required by law or policy.
• Maneuver the truck into/out of tight spaces using mirrors and GPS guidance.
• Follow safe operating practices and lockout/tagout procedures for safe equipment operation.
• Monitor operations for debris and ensure safety during dumping operations.
