Job summary

Republic Services in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Driver Trainee to train for a CDL and advance to a Driver across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off operations. The program offers classroom study, on-route training, hands-on practice, and access to a company truck to help you pass the CDL exam.

After earning your CDL, you’ll enter a full-time driving role with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.
• Willingness to complete CDL training through Republic Services.
• Commitment to a 12-month employment period after CDL issuance.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study, on-route training and driving experience.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Learn to operate heavy trucks on designated routes and service customers.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and report safety issues.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure vehicle readiness.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in one of the company lines of business.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
