Job summary

Homewood & Meeks, a Division of US LBM Holdings, is seeking a CDL Driver I in California to transport lumber and building materials to job sites and storage locations. This hands-on role requires a Class A or B CDL, pre-/post-trip inspections, and strict adherence to DOT regulations.

Expect city deliveries with potential interstate travel, load securing, unloading, and strong customer service at delivery points.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers.
• 1–2 years CDL experience preferred.
• Experience transporting lumber and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Deliver to active construction sites and completed locations; may travel inter-state.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections for safety and compliance.
• Provide professional customer service and relay messages on job sites.
• Secure, load, and verify orders before departure and on delivery.
• Maintain DOT logs of hours and on‑duty time per federal regulations.
• Deliver and unload materials and ensure customer satisfaction at delivery.
• Operate truck-mounted forklift to load/unload and move materials.
