Job summary

Homestead Building Solutions is hiring a CDL Driver I to safely transport building materials to job sites and storage locations. You will inspect vehicles, manage DOT logs, and assist in loading and unloading materials with a truck-mounted forklift.

The role requires a Class A or B CDL and 1–2 years CDL experience with lumber/materials handling. A High School diploma or GED is required, with city and interstate deliveries possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers preferred.
• 1-2 years CDL experience preferred.
• Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant manner.
• Deliver to active construction sites and completed build locations; city and inter-state travel may occur.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Provide professional, courteous customer service during interactions on site.
• Secure loads, verify orders for accuracy, and document deliveries and returns.
• Maintain DOT logs of driving hours and on‑duty time per federal rules.
• Unload materials safely and accurately, ensuring customer satisfaction at delivery.
• Use a truck-mounted forklift for loading/unloading and transport around job sites.
• Keep truck clean and organized; assist with warehouse stocking as needed.
