Job summary

Homewood & Meeks, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, seeks a CDL Driver I to safely transport materials to job sites and other locations. Maintain Class A/B license, perform vehicle inspections, manage logs, and assist in loading and storing materials. Drivers may perform inter-state travel and city deliveries while upholding safety standards.

Pay rate is $28.00/hr. Duties include unloading, inventory handling, and operating a truck-mounted forklift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required.
• 1-2 years CDL experience preferred.
• Experience transporting and handling lumber and building materials required.

Responsibilities

• Operates Class A or B commercial vehicles in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
• Delivers to active construction sites and finished locations; city-based and inter-state travel may be required.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Provides professional customer service and relays messages from customers while on site.
• Organizes and secures loads and verifies orders for accuracy before departure and on delivery.
• Adheres to all DOT regulations and applicable permits.
• Maintains DOT-compliant logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods.
• Delivers and unloads materials safely and ensures customer satisfaction at delivery.
• Records returned merchandise and assists in unloading for credit with proper documentation.
• Safely operates a truck-mounted forklift to load/unload and transport materials.
• Maintains truck cleanliness and organization, ensuring readiness for operation.
• Assist with stocking and organizing inventory in warehouse and production areas.
