Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. is seeking a Driver CDL to deliver building materials and maintain safety standards. You will operate company vehicles, load/unload products, verify quantities, and assist yard staff while ensuring timely, courteous service at customer sites.

You must have a valid CDL, be 21+, pass background/drug checks, and complete Boom/Forklift Certification. Flexible scheduling including weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Must have high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control of the vehicle to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materials and equipment.
• Effective communication skills with vendors, customers, management, and team members.
• Must successfully complete all Company training and certification requirements regarding equipment usage, including obtaining R.P. Lumber’s Boom and Forklift Certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Successful applicants are subject to pre-employment drug testing, pre-employment background check and driver motor vehicle history checks in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products and materials to customer’s jobsites using the most efficient route available while observing and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations as well as company policies/procedures.
• Unload or assist in unloading products and materials at the customer’s jobsite using crane (boom), conveyor, piggybacks (Moffett) and/or by hand.
• Ensure that delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service.
• Secure returning loads on the company vehicle prior to leaving the job site.
• Complete paperwork pertaining to deliveries (Delivery Waiver / Consent Form), returns, and/or transfers for inventory control purposes.
• Assist in loading and securing residential and commercial building products and materials on trucks; verify materials and quantities.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles.
• Perform routine safety checks on vehicles.
• Assist in yard and warehouse with stocking, loading and organizing building and lumber materials.
• Assist customers in the yard with loading material and product questions when not driving a delivery truck.
• Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
