Job summary

RP Lumber Co. in Monmouth, IL is seeking a Driver CDL to deliver building materials to jobsites, uphold safety standards, and provide courteous customer service.

You will load and unload products, secure loads, maintain delivery paperwork, assist yard staff, and keep delivery trucks clean and well maintained. This full-time position requires a CDL (Class A or B) with endorsements, a clean driving record, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Valid Class A or Class B CDL License (preferably with Air Brake and Manual Transmission Endorsements).
• Must possess or be willing to obtain DOT Medical Certification Card.
• Successful applicants are subject to pre-employment drug testing, pre-employment background check and driver motor vehicle history checks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products and materials to customers' jobsites using the most efficient route while observing traffic laws and company policies.
• Unload or assist in unloading products and materials at the customer’s jobsite by crane, conveyor, piggybacks and/or by hand.
• Ensure delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service.
• Secure returning loads on the company vehicle prior to leaving the job site.
• Complete required paperwork pertaining to deliveries (Delivery Waiver/Consent Form), returns, and transfers for inventory control.
• Assist in loading and securing materials on trucks and verify materials/quantities for accuracy.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles.
• Perform routine safety checks on vehicles according to company policies/procedures.
• Assist in yard and warehouse with stocking, loading and organizing building and lumber materials.
• Assist customers in the yard with loading material and product questions when not driving a delivery truck.
• Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
