Job summary

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• MVR must meet hiring standards.
• DOT regulations under FMC 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently or as a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with dispatch on delays/incidents.
• Duties of road driver or freight handler as needed.
• Comply with laws, regs and company policies.
