Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and placarding requirements.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Communicate with customers to determine pick-up or delivery needs.
• Supply new business leads to sales where appropriate.
