Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Driver/Freight Handler in Pennsylvania. The role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations, performing safety inspections, and handling freight with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

You will secure loads, maintain documentation, and communicate with Dispatch to coordinate pickups and deliveries. This position may include road driving or freight handling tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or CLP required prior to job entry.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, and climb in/out of truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch and customers about pick-up/delivery needs.
• Provide internal and external customer service.
• Possibly perform road driver or freight handler duties when needed.
