Job summary

Qualifications

• CDL or commercial learning permit (CLP) required.
• Acceptable MVR on hire per standards.
• DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regs 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hook up/break down trailer sets requiring ~100 lb lifts.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, and climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training; work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to trucks.
• Maintain accurate daily logs and required documentation.
• Communicate with Dispatch and follow instructions for events.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding as required.
• Provide internal/external customer service.
• Occasionally perform city driver or freight handler duties.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Chain vehicle tires when necessary and comply with laws and policies.
