Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver with a Class A CDL to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform dock duties. The role includes pre/post-trip inspections, equipment handling, freight securing, and documentation duties.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL A or CLP and pass DOT requirements
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements
• Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and handle heavy freight
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment
• Secure freight inside trailers
• Recoup/repair damaged freight
• Complete required documentation
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays and equipment
• Provide customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs
• Ask customers for additional business and provide leads
• Possibly perform road driver or freight handler duties
• Comply with laws and company policies
• Chain vehicle tires
• Perform other duties as required
