Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a driver/operator to perform tractor-trailer operations, safety inspections, and freight handling. You will ensure secure loading and compliant documentation while coordinating with Dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer, including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight with motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight and complete required reports.
• Comply with hazmat regs and placarding per DOT rules.
• Communicate with Dispatch and customers regarding delays or needs.
• Provide internal and external customer service and generate leads.
