Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Combination Driver/Dockworker to support loading, unloading, and delivering freight between service centers and customer locations. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and on-time performance in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll operate a forklift, read shipping labels, and comply with DOT regulations. Available shifts include third shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class A with double/triple trailers, tanker, hazmat endorsements.
• 12 months of tractor-trailer driving experience or graduate of a state Training program.
• Ability to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.
• Must meet medical standards and pass drug/alcohol tests.
• Must be 22 years of age and legally eligible to work.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload freight using forklift, pallet jack, or manually per DOT guidelines.
• Transport freight within service centers and between centers and customer sites.
• Read shipping labels and complete forms required for freight movement.
• Secure freight in trailers with pallets, straps, and other equipment.
• Be available for third shift, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Operate tractors/trailer combinations safely and in compliance with regulations.
