Job summary

Gourmet Foods International is hiring a CDL driver in Kenosha, Wisconsin. One year of Class A driving experience is required with refrigerated loads. The role includes routes, delivery duties, and maintaining proper load temperatures.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 21
• Valid CDL License (Class A or B, depending on route requirements)
• Refrigeration experience required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Push/pull up to 75 lbs
• Ascend and descend a step up to 17 inches from the floor
• Climb up and down 3 rungs of a ladder, with the first rung at 21 inches from the ground
• Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential; overtime, weekends and holidays may be required

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for deliveries and performing pre-trip safety checks
• Drive to and deliver customer orders following all regulations and procedures
• Maintain load temperatures according to load specifications
• Unload products from the trailer and place in designated storage areas
• Verify delivery with customers and collect payment when required; communicate discrepancies to management

Responsibilities And Duties

• Performing all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries, counting items and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded, and performing the "pre-trip safety check" inspection of truck and trailer according to DOT/FMCSA regulations.
• Driving to and delivering customer orders following all DOT/FMCSA, state regulations, and GFI procedures and protocols
• Maintaining load temperatures according to load specifications
• Unloading products from the trailer with a hand truck or by hand and placing them in designated customer storage areas.
• Verifying delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signatures; collecting money (cash or checks) when required; contacting management for authorization when discrepancies on the invoice and communicating all errors/returns.
