160 Driving Academy is the nation's largest CDL training school with 90+ yards across 32 states. We are seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspection to passing the CDL exam, in yards and on the road.

Based at a designated yard, you work with fellow instructors and a Lead Instructor, with occasional regional yard coverage. Expect a 90-day probation and a focus on safety and curriculum adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A license with 24+ months driving experience.
• Ability to mentor and coach students effectively.
• Strong communication and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards using both automatic and manual transmission.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide extra support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
• Report incidents to lead and corporate promptly.
• Collaborate with instructors to deliver a consistent student experience.
• Keep yard and building clean and presentable.
• Cover for other instructors at nearby yards in emergencies.
