160 Driving Academy is the nation’s largest CDL training school, with 90+ yards across 32 states. As a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer, you teach students from pre-trip inspection to the CDL exam—both in the yard and on the road—under the guidance of a Lead Instructor.

You’ll be based at a designated yard, work with fellow instructors, and occasionally fill in at regional yards. Keeping the yard tidy and safe is part of the role, with pay tied to outcomes that matter.

Qualifications

• The role involves teaching CDL Class A driving and guiding students from pre-trip inspections to the CDL exam.
• Position requires hands-on yard and in-vehicle instruction with a Lead Instructor.
• Occasional coverage at other regional yards may be required.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills in outdoor yards with automatic and manual transmissions.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on the first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide support as needed.
• Maintain training records and documentation; report incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with instructors to deliver a consistent student experience and curriculum.
• Keep yard and building clean and presentable; cover for other instructors when needed.
• Assist with transfer of trucks to repair operations and neighboring yards.
• Adhere to safety, compliance, and curriculum during a 90-day probationary period.
