Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking a CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to guide students from pre-trip inspections to CDL exam success, in yard and on-road settings. Based at a designated yard, you will join a team of instructors and a Lead Instructor, with occasional coverage at regional yards.

You will teach, assess progress, and maintain records while upholding safety standards, with merit-based wage increases and bonuses tied to yard performance.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL Class A with 24 months verifiable driving experience.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Ability to maintain safety standards and comply with DOT guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills with hands-on training in yards.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections, maneuvers, and on-road driving.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing on the first attempt.
• Track attendance, progress, and maintain training records.
• Maintain tidy yard and assist with occasional coverage at regional yards.
