Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre-trip inspection to CDL exam success. You’ll work at a designated yard with a team of instructors, with occasional regional coverage and some light yard upkeep duties.

The role emphasizes hands-on teaching, strong attendance, and collaboration with your Lead Instructor to ensure a consistent student experience and safe, effective instruction.

Qualifications

• Must have strong communication and mentoring skills.
• Experience teaching or coaching drivers is preferred.
• Ability to teach manual transmission and operate tractors.

Responsibilities

• Teach CDL Class A driving skills in yards and on road.
• Guide students through pre-trip inspections and yard maneuvers.
• Prepare students to pass CDL tests on first attempt.
• Track attendance and progress; provide support as needed.
• Maintain training records and documentation.
• Report incidents to lead/corporate promptly.
• Collaborate with instructors to deliver consistent student experience.
