Job summary

160 Driving Academy is seeking an experienced CDL Class A Instructor Trainer to teach students from pre‑trip inspections to CDL exam day, in the yard and on the road. You’ll work with a team of instructors, with occasional shifts at other regional yards and light yard upkeep as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with 24+ months of verifiable Class A tractor‑trailer driving experience (Nevada requires 5 years).
• MVR free of violations; pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screenings.
• Residence in the applying state or relocation arrangements.
• Must meet state instructor licensing requirements where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Teach Class A driving skills with hands‑on training in yards and on the road.
• Guide students through pre‑trip inspections, yard maneuvers, and CDL testing.
• Prepare students to pass CDL testing standards on the first attempt.
• Track student attendance and progress; provide additional support when needed.
• Maintain training records, evaluations, and documentation.
• Report incidents and accidents to lead and corporate in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to ensure a consistent student experience.
