Job summary

Austin Powder Company in Wyoming seeks a CDL Class A Driver/Operator to safely transport and deliver bulk and packaged explosives. You will operate mobile manufacturing units on site and support labor tasks at customer locations, reporting to the Location Manager.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with DOT/ATF regulations. The role requires readiness for outdoor work in all weather and early start times, with potential endorsements preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Class-A CDL required
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
• Read and interpret gauges accurately
• Maintain daily operation records and logs
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Hazmat, tanker, and air brake endorsements preferred
• Must meet DOT and ATF explosive possession requirements
• Possess unrestricted for manual transmissions is a plus
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours and early starts

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain vehicles and equipment safely and professionally
• Drive 20–30% of time; perform outside labor with hand tools and equipment
• Coordinate mechanical processes to deliver emulsion
• Transport goods, inventory, hazardous materials, and cargo to destinations
• Maintain logs and verify load contents against manifests
• Load/unload materials and perform on-site equipment operation
• Run mobile manufacturing units at customer locations to produce bulk products
• Ensure quality and safety in bulk explosive production and delivery
• Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
• Comply with regulatory requirements and company policies for explosives handling
• Follow safety rules and operating instructions; read product bulletins and manuals
• Handle inventory, gauges, and equipment with accuracy
• Other duties as assigned
