Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Support CDL Driver to fill in on open routes to support daily delivery operations. This role is flexible to cover varying routes and schedules while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Starting wage ranges from $24.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience, with 10-15 hours of overtime weekly and overtime pay time and a half after 40 hours. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs.
• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed.
• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers.
• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle.
• Collect payments as needed.
• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers.
• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies.
• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle.
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments.
• Travel may be required.
• Perform other required duties as assigned.
