Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver- CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt waste removal services to customers. The role requires pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and adherence to safety standards and state/federal regulations.

The driver will service routes, load refuse, operate the packer, and communicate with dispatchers and customers to ensure timely collection and high service quality.

Qualifications

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver's license with air brakes endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor and dispose of material at the designated facility.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others to ensure routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with procedures.
• Monitor waste quality and cleanliness; address spills following safety standards.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean waste from the packer blade and truck body where appropriate.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports; adhere to productivity standards.
• Follow safety policies and participate in the ReSOP program.
