Job summary

LRS is seeking an experienced roll-off driver to service customer accounts and manage disposal and recycling tasks in local Michigan routes. The role involves operating a heavy vehicle, performing safety inspections, and maintaining clear communications with dispatch and customers.

Candidates must hold a valid Class B CDL, a current DOT medical card, and a clean driving record, with English proficiency and the ability to read and follow safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire.
• No DUI or OVI within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
• No license suspensions within the last 2 years.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• Must pass pre-employment testing.
• Must read and speak English sufficiently to communicate and understand safety training.

Responsibilities

• Provide, replace and remove roll-off containers and compactors for customers.
• Complete work assignments safely and efficiently to avoid damage or accidents.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with safety, OSHA and DOT requirements and local laws.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Report unsafe situations or service-related issues to Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Attend trainings, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work with Route Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notify Route Manager of incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions and potential hazards.
• Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Maintain and update driver logs throughout the day.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Keep the vehicle clean and free of trash/debris.
• Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation.
• Perform all duties as scheduled and assist other drivers when needed.
