Job summary

Lakeshore Waste Services is seeking Commercial Drivers to operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments for waste and recycling pickups. You will move containers weighing well over 1,000 pounds, navigate tight driveways, and transport loads to disposal or recycling facilities while maintaining safety standards.

Applicants must hold a valid Class B CDL, a current DOT medical card or obtain it before hire, and be 18 or older.

Qualifications

• Requires practical truck driving skills and safe operation of heavy-duty vehicles.
• Pre-trip and post-trip inspections using DVIR.
• Ability to back up and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Strong communication with Dispatch and Route Manager.
• Maintain route efficiency and report safety concerns promptly.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks with front or rear end load lift attachment.
• Pickup containers with waste or recyclables, may exceed 1000 pounds.
• Transport materials to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
• Back up and position containers on customer sites as required.
• Complete end-of-day documentation and reports as needed.
• Assist other drivers to meet customer needs and route requirements.
