Job summary

Republic Services in Union City, CA is seeking a Driver- CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and provide reliable waste removal services for customers. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, maintain safety compliance, and complete VCRs to document vehicle conditions.

Essential duties include reading route sheets, servicing customers on the designated route, reporting safety issues, and upholding company safety standards while delivering prompt, courteous service.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class B or higher CDL with air brakes endorsement.
• Ability to safely operate heavy trucks on designated routes.
• Excellent customer service and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per policy.
• Safely operate heavy truck on the designated route and service customers.
• Read route sheets, follow maps, and report safety issues.
• Load refuse, operate packer, and dispose at the facility.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and clean around packer blade as needed.
• Complete route sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
• Meet productivity standards; follow safety policies and ReSOP.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide professional customer service and time management.
