Qualifications

• CDL-Class B license required; hazmat and tank endorsements preferred. Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• At least 1 year experience in a straight truck or similar vehicle in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must be 21 years old.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds and read route schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks.
• Meet delivery schedules with professional customer service including soliciting new business.
• Secure freight for pick-up and delivery using pallets, straps and rope.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Communicate delays and problems to dispatch; follow dispatch instructions.
• Load, unload, or assist in loading and unloading truck.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain records.
• Comply with DOT regulations and other company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
