Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a dedicated driver to perform pickup and delivery between service centers and customers in a professional, safe, and timely manner.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, securing freight, and maintaining accurate paperwork. Must hold a valid CDL Class B with HazMat and Tank endorsements (or eligibility), have at least 1 year of straight truck experience, and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class B license with HazMat and Tank endorsements or eligible for endorsement within company timelines.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a straight truck or similar vehicle within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks.
• Meet delivery schedules with professional customer service and help solicit new business.
• Secure freight for pickup/delivery using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Follow dispatch instructions and report delays or equipment issues.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete necessary paperwork and maintain records.
• Handle loading/unloading and freight handling equipment as needed.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and DOT procedures.
