Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers and to support the selling process. You will operate tractor-trailers, perform pre-trip inspections, and ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities include securing freight, documenting shipments, complying with DOT regulations, and assisting the sales effort by identifying additional business opportunities. Starting pay is $29.83 per hour in Alabama.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL with hazardous materials and tank endorsements.
• Must have 1 year of driving experience within the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMCSA regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform pre-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and secure freight for transport.
• Prepare and complete required freight documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and DOT standards.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickups, deliveries, and delays.
• Support sales by identifying additional business opportunities.
