Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to advance a CDL-A career in a safety-focused environment. You'll learn to maneuver tractor-trailer, attach trailers, operate with DDH, and document deliveries while complying with DOT and company policies.

Starting pay includes $27.00 per hour during training, with day-one medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. You will train on routes, logistics, and safe driving practices, aiming to join a team delivering for leading brands.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability and willingness to select/load/unload and/or deliver ALL products that may be ordered by McLane customers.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and handle lines to secure.
• Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH) and document delivery receipts/product temperatures and exceptions.
• Rides and trains with Driver Trainer to learn regulatory requirements and driving techniques.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assist the Driver in unloading trailer and delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.
