Job summary

XPO is seeking a Truck Driver Student in Des Moines, IA to begin CDL-A training and gain hands-on experience as an LTL driver. You will perform inspections, maintain records, and handle documentation under FMCSR and DOT guidance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Have 1 year of related experience.
• Hold a valid state driver's license for 12+ months.
• Obtain CDL-A permit by first day and endorsements within 90 days.
• Initiate TSA background check by week 2.
• Maintain safe driving record.
• Pass DOT drug test with no positives in 3 years.
• Pass company pre-hire DOT physical and essential function tests.
• Available for days, evenings, nights, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Attend CDL-A training sessions.
• Gain on-the-job experience as an LTL driver.
• Perform vehicle inspections per FMCSR 396.13.
• Maintain records per FMCSR, DOT, and company policy.
• Load/unload freight using a forklift when needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Adhere to company safety policies.
• Maintain contact with service center staff in a fast-paced environment.
