Job summary

Performance Foodservice is hiring a Shuttle Driver in the Durham, NC area. You will transport empty trailers between operating locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards, complying with DOT rules and safety standards.

The role requires a CDL A with doubles endorsement, a valid DOT health card, 21+ years old, and at least 12 months of commercial driving experience. Schedule is Sunday–Thursday nights, with hours around 4pm–6pm.

Qualifications

• 12 months commercial driving experience
• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement
• Must be 21 years of age
• Meet all state licensing/certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean MVR for past 3 years
• Work third shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights
• Pass pre-employment drug test and road test
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one
• Able to lift and move heavy product cases/freight

Responsibilities

• Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) on tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations
• Report all safety issues and needed repairs
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety guidelines
• Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
• Ensure route paperwork is ready for dispatch
• Drive and deliver trailers according to schedule
• Perform hook/unhook procedures safely
• Park and store tractors/trailers
• Secure equipment and freight
• Handle damaged goods and returns and complete paperwork
• Unload equipment and remove trash as required
• Complete daily hours-of-service logs per regulations
• Maintain cleanliness in truck and loading areas
• Perform other related duties as assigned
