Job summary

Cheney Brothers is hiring a Shuttle Driver in Macon, GA to transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yards. You will operate tandem, tractor, or straight trucks within intrastate and interstate routes, complying with DOT regulations and company safety standards.

You will communicate professionally with customers and coworkers and support daily logistics operations.

Qualifications

• 12+ months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years.
• Willing to work 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday.
• Pass pre-employment drug test.
• Pass road test.
• Valid DOT Health Card or able to secure one.
• Able to lift 60–90 pounds and move freight.

Responsibilities

• Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations.
• Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follows DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines.
• Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
• Ensures route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available.
• Drives and delivers trailers according to schedule.
• Performs hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
• Parks and stores tractor trailers in designated areas.
• Ensures equipment and freight are secured.
• Completes daily hours of service log as required.
• Performs general housekeeping in tractor/loading dock area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills

12+ months of commercial driving
