Job summary

FedEx Freight in the United States seeks an experienced truck driver to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-points using tractor-trailer combinations. The role requires compliance with DOT rules, accurate logs, and safe operation of equipment.

The position offers eligibility for hazardous materials endorsements and long-combination vehicle experience; overnight stays may be required and some duties may include dock or city driving tasks.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• At least 1 year of recent experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must have an acceptable MVR and meet DOT requirements.
• LCV experience relevant to listed states (AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, UT).
• Good written and verbal communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to hook up and break down trailer sets and lift loads safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies to/from a tractor and/or trailer.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Maintain accurate daily logs.
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues with dispatch.
• Load and unload freight as required.
• May perform duties of city driver or dock employee as needed.
• Comply with all applicable laws and company policies.
