Job summary

American Driver LLC is seeking drivers for regional intermodal work around the Columbus area. You’ll enjoy a 48-hour weekly home schedule with a fixed start time you choose each week, operating an automatic mid-roof tractor.

The role offers a $10,000 sign-on, a $1,654 weekly average (about $86,000 annually), weekly pay, and weekend bonuses. Hazmat needed within 90 days; 2 days off together, excluding weekends. Training and benefits are included.

• No moving violations or reckless driving in 3 years; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic mid roof tractor on regional intermodal routes in the Columbus area.
• Maintain compliance with safety, hours-of-service, and company policies.
• Coordinate with dispatch for on-time pickups and deliveries.

The Basics

• Days Off: any 2 in a row except Saturday and Sunday together
• Start Time: your pick, same every week
• Freight: intermodal containers, about 75% drop and hook
• Region: Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa
• Truck: automatic mid roof tractor, 2.5 years old on average

The Money

• $1,654 weekly average (about $86,000 a year)
• $10,000 sign-on, first payment after your first dispatch (eligibility terms apply)
• $0.64 per mile to start, about 2,200 miles a week
• $65 per live stop, $35 per drop and hook
• $150 weekend bonus every week
• $20 to $25 per hour detention after 1 hour
• $250 per training day

Straight Answers

• Home during the week? Not promised. Your 48 hours off are. If you are low on hours near home, you can take your 10 hour break there.
• Weekends? Worked. That is why the $150 weekly bonus exists.
• Training? 1 to 2 weeks, with a hotel stay.
• Hazmat? Needed within 90 days.
• Holidays? 6 paid at $190 after your first year, and you are not required to work them.

Requirements

• 21+ with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat within 90 days of hire
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in 5 years and no major preventable accidents in 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
