American Driver LLC is seeking regional intermodal drivers in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan. Earn a strong weekly average of about $1,654 plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus, with mileage pay of $0.64 per mile and various per-stop bonuses.

Job description

Pay, Line by Line

• Sign-On: $10,000, first payment after your first dispatch (eligibility terms apply)
• Weekly Average: $1,654 (about $86,000 a year)
• Mileage: $0.64 per mile to start, Rand McNally miles, about 2,200 per week
• Mileage Share: about 70% of pay comes from miles and 30% from stops and extras
• Live Load or Unload: $65
• Drop and Hook: $35
• Weekend Bonus: $150 per week
• Detention: $20 to $25 per hour after 1 hour
• Hazmat Load: $25
• Reefer Load: $30
• Layover: $20 per hour, up to 5 hours
• Breakdown: $20 per hour, up to 5 hours
• Training: $250 per day
• Holidays: $190 each, 6 per year after year one

Schedule

• 2 days off in a row every week, your choice (not Saturday and Sunday together)
• Your start time, kept consistent week to week
• 1,800 to 2,800 miles per week

Freight and Equipment

• Intermodal containers in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Kentucky
• About 75% drop and hook, 25% live, 5% reefer
• Automatic mid roof Freightliners and Internationals, 2.5 years old on average
• 1 to 2 weeks of training with a hotel stay

Requirements

• 21+ with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Hazmat within 90 days of hire
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in 5 years and no major preventable accidents in 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing, with no failed drug or alcohol test in the last 5 years
