Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. in Nashville, TN is seeking a Class A CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers and to support the selling process.

You're responsible for safe operation of tractor-trailers, daily pre-trip inspections, securing freight, communicating with dispatch, and meeting DOT regulations. This role may involve assisting sales opportunities and providing reliable service.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• Must have one year of recent driving experience or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and convertor dollies to/from a tractor/trailer.
• Secure freight using pallets, straps, rope and other equipment.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding pickups, deliveries, and delays.
