Job summary

FedEx Freight in Ladson, SC is hiring a CDL A driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers while supporting the sales process. Starting pay is $32.20 per hour. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and work with dispatch to handle deliveries and customer needs.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with required endorsements (hazmat, double/triple); automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• 1 year of driving experience in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet DOT/MVR standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies; perform freight handling with forklifts/pallet jacks.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, rope; recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation; communicate with dispatch about delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and transportation laws; collect charges and maintain records.
• May be required to perform chaining of tires or duties of road driver or dock employee.
