Job summary

FedEx Freight is hiring for a Driver role in the United States. The position entails picking up and delivering freight between service centers and customers, with responsibilities spanning safety inspections, trailer handling, freight movement, documentation, and customer interaction.

Candidates must hold a Class A CDL with hazmat and tank endorsements, possess at least one year of recent relevant experience or completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course, and meet DOT/MVR

Qualifications

• CDL Class A with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year experience in the past three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must meet MVR and DOT requirements.
• LCV qualifications may apply in specified states.
• Basic math and strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer or straight trucks including doubles/triples where applicable.
• Perform pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Follow hazardous materials procedures and regulations.
• Collect payments for freight charges and maintain records.
• Coordinate with dispatch and communicate delays or issues.
• Interacts with customers to arrange pickups or deliveries and generate sales leads.
• Provide strong customer service and seek additional business.
