Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a CDL driver with HazMat and tank endorsements to operate tractor-trailer units including doubles/triples where allowed. This role requires DOT compliance, pre-trip inspections, secure freight, and accurate documentation.

Daily responsibilities include loading/unloading, verifying charges, communicating with dispatch, and seeking additional business while delivering reliable service to customers. Must meet MVR requirements and maintain safe driving records.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements. Automatic transmission restriction allowed.
• Minimum 1 year experience within last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• LCV work in AZ, CO, FL, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD and UT; must meet LCV standards.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills for documentation and coordination.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds several times a week.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.
• Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations (including doubles/triples where applicable).
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections and safety checks.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
• Collect payments for freight charges as required and maintain receipts.
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays or issues.
• Communicate with customers to determine pickup/delivery needs and solicit additional business.
• Provide internal and external customer service and generate leads for sales.
• May be required to chain tires; may perform road driver or dock duties as needed.
• Comply with all laws and company policies; perform other duties as required.
