Job summary

NIS EXPRESS in Fernley, NV is seeking CDL-A truck drivers for dry van freight with home time every two weeks and weekly earnings potential around $1,000–$1,300. You'll start with over-the-road training and guaranteed weekly pay before moving solo, with benefits after 30 days.

Expect western routes (west of the Mississippi), winter passes, and a supportive training program including pay during orientation and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL-A and complete at least 120 hours of CDL training.
• New CDL-A holders welcome to apply.
• 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the past 5 years.
• No DUI/DWI in the past 5–10 years; valid license in current state.

Responsibilities

• Operate dry van freight across western states (west of the Mississippi).
• Achieve approximately 2,300 miles per week with home every 2 weeks.
• Pass hair and urine drug testing and maintain safety standards.

Fernley drivers: good Western miles, home every couple of weeks, and a fleet that hires both experienced drivers and brand new CDL holders.

Numbers First

• Average weekly gross: $1,300
• Miles: about 2,300 per week
• First 3 months solo: $1,000 weekly guaranteed pay
• Extras: $15 stop pay and a monthly performance bonus

Where and When

• States west of the Mississippi
• Home every 2 weeks
• Dry van freight, day and night dispatches
• Winter weather over the passes is part of the job, some holidays worked

Starting Out?

• New CDL-A holders are welcome to apply
• 4 to 6 weeks over the road with an experienced trainer
• Guaranteed weekly training pay, then straight to full solo driver pay
• Must have completed at least 120 hours at an accredited CDL school

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• Trainees welcome, no prior experience needed: just a valid Class A CDL and 120+ hours of CDL training
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12+ months in the past 5 years
• Military experience considered with a valid DD214
• Valid license in your current state of residence and verifiable work history for the past 3 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years, no major preventable accidents in the last 5 years, no DUI/DWI in the past 5 to 10 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing
