Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver – CDL (A) in Fort Wayne to safely operate heavy trucks on defined routes, delivering and removing large containers. The role emphasizes safety compliance, vehicle inspections, and courteous customer service on every trip.

The driver will perform minor container repairs, document route productivity, and adhere to company policies while maintaining equipment and reporting daily results. A CDL-A with air brakes is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs on containers.
• Adheres to company safety standards and policies at all times.
• Maintains professional and courteous interaction with customers and co-workers.
• Strong time management and ability to follow schedules and routes.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Safely operate the truck along designated routes to service customers.
• Load/unload waste, operate the compactor and dispose of materials per policy.
• Interact courteously with customers and dispatchers daily.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory containers and tag accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and report issues.
• Maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime and complete reports.
• Follow safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
