Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Driver, Trainee Component to learn the essential functions of a Driver role and support the distribution of products to customer locations.

The program includes hands-on training with a Driver Trainer, compliance with DOT regulations, and documentation of deliveries. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer and operate related equipment.
• English reading/writing proficiency required for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect equipment for defects pre/post trip and report condition.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures.
• Ride with a Driver Trainer to learn regulations and driving techniques.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations and company policy.
• Assist in unloading and delivering product to customer premises.
• Provide on-time delivery and handle product returns and credits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
